Just curious about all of your ideas to improve guild interactions.. Our recruitment has been slower lately and it looks like we may have just lost our first member since the guild was created. I'm not too worried, but i'd rather cut off any bleeding before we lose anyone else.
Comments are more than welcome

By the way, in case you're interested in some more structure.. rather than setting up structures like ToE or Iron Club, my idea was setting up Military-style groups within the guild. The reason for this is there are a ton of 1-10 member guilds.. a lot of people want to start their own guild.. the idea is you can have your own "Legion" within The Fallen. While we all work collectively and help each-other out and spawn rivalries within the guild.
The idea is to create some friendly competition within the guild and I could award the winners with prizes or gold. All teams should be even, so I would rather a mix of levels grouping together. You are only as strong as your weakest link.
tell me what you think

Here's my $.02
first of all members need to not mistake rank or lvl for power. Your lvl doesn't mean shit if you are an absolute retard. Secondly I like the idea of trying to get the smaller guilds to join the fallen collectivly there is strength in numbers but also your only as good as your members so even if we have hundreds of members but most are inactive or d-bags it reflects bad on us. Thirdly I like the idea of structure and having rank within the guild that has nothing to do with your cq rank. We should have a recruiter or two someone that frequents the cq forum and the siren. I have a log of posts here but rarely post on cq fiorum or in the siren. I like the idea of having an overall leader and an underboss. I like the idea of small teams within the guild an easy example red team blue team etc. With team leaders that members of the team report to. Fourthly I think it's a good idea to set goals for all members of the guild, not sure what said goals should/would be but until guilds get more function within the game we need to keep members interested and continuing to rank and get more powerful.
Again these are just suggestions and my ideas in real life i'm 37 years old and have supervised people and it's not an easy job face to face let alone on the Internet.

Personaly i believe ranks would help to the guildm as i have said before i ran a guild in WOW of around 200 members and this seemed to work.
Guild leader ( Obviously Hellfire) Core Officers Members New members
IN this structure obviously new members were the newest to the guild and the core were the main game players in the guild whom the guild leader trusted most
The levels between these were not due to the lvl of char or amount of gold they had or who they were friends with!
Promotions were put forward via a member of the guild with a reason to why they were recommending that person i.e they helped with this, they assisted me with that, they are always willing to lend a hand to a guildie.
these promotions were then discussed between the core and guild leader ( all of whom had the same rights ) so i couldnt be accused of not liking some one.
We found that this recommendation and promotion system prompted guildie help.
just what i did and it did work. i believe the guild is still going with my friend as the gl and running in the same princible

We should run the guild like a military unit.We need a person in charge ( hellfire ) after all you started the fallen it's your baby. Then he will need his general and so on down the ranks to the average guild worker. Let hellfire pick his next in command. If we had seperate factions in the guild I think that might weaken us with internal fighting, when we should be going after the other guilds.

Alright, i've had this post up for like five hours now and it looks like everyone would like some sort of structure. I'm going to come up with something over the next few days which is overly elaborate and interesting.
I hesitate to put in concrete ranks (one person having authority over another) simply because most people want to have that authority no matter how little it actually matters. The reason I'll probably stick to lose teams within the guild (more like battalions or units) is because competing on the top 50 isn't easy for people who started later on. The idea is offering rewards (or maybe a competition in which each "unit" puts in a certain amount of gold into the pot and whoever gets, say, the most wood cut in X days, wins the pot. The benefit of competition like this not only motivates people to cut wood and gets more of us in a position to potentially catch up and have someone or a group of us farming ravenwood. (The Iron Club currently has the ravenwood/vinestriker monopoly).
Another idea of an inter-guild competition is exp or level gaining. I realize levels from 30-40 are significantly harder than 1-10, so we can weigh each level by points. For example: 1-5 = 1 point per level 6-10 = 2 points per level 11-15 = 3 points per level etc..
When I'm finished writing the proposal before you guys vote on it, i think i'm going to have this be the first competition. I think i'll offer a bonus to any team that has a player make level 50 and i'll probably also throw in a bonus if their team average gain is over a certain (yet to be determined) amount of points per player. Each team is going to have to have a minimum number of members and each team will have one unit leader.
Don't worry either, i'll come up with better names than "Units" too considering this isn't grade school. Besides these competitions, i'd like each group to specialize in different aspects of the game. For example, I'd like a unit to specialize in:
recruitment inter-guild communication/trade relations/diplomacy combat crafting/supplies/production/banking espionage/intelligence
Don't get me wrong though, there can be a combination of the above. I'll provide more details within the next few days.

Being a girl I'm not sure I can keep up with the military requirements and follow orders properly - I have a feeling I might get shot, so I'll take to the hills for a while & live in a cave. Maybe someone can write a " visit the crazy hermit in a cave" quest sometime & everyone will visit. You mental testoserone fired dudes are great! (I have a little boy so I know I can't keep up!!) cheers

i agree with koti and sants. we need a rank system not based on game lvl. also a board for guild discussions would help. the people should be the people who use the forum or people who communicate in game alot. if someone hasen't contributed to the guild they should not get as big a say as those who do. the ranks should be added on here aswell so people get personal ranks.

Oh, and if I was a bettin man I would venture to say the drop in recruits is due to me not being online for a while =P As soon as I went off paternity leave work started wearin my ass out. 90 hours last week 83 hours this week... plus was in a hotel for a few of those days (as my boss holds a sign that says "pwned") lmao I'll get back to gettin people in since I should be around some this week.
